Tippy Tap by Folau
In room 5 we have been learning to make a tippy tap to show Africa how to wash their hands so they
don't spread germs to other people. This is a picture of the tippy tap it works like this. You get 4 long hard sticks then make a x on both side. Then you get a container but first put a stick on the cross then you get the container and tie it on the stick. Then get the soap put a thin rope but make a whole through the soap in the middle then tie the rope on the stick. When you finish put the stick on the ground then get the soap rub it on your hands remember on your whole hands after that wash your hands by sanding on the stick.

A non standard unit of measure by Vine
WALT use non-standard measures to find the area of a shape
I know that I can do this because the photos show my group finding out the area of our shape.
In this photo we made a shape and made an estimation of how many people could fit sitting inside the shape. We were trying to find out the area of our shape using our body. This is a non standard unit of measure. A non standard unit of measure is your body.
In this photo we lay down inside the shape
and see how much people who can fit inside the shape. In my group we decided if the
shape could fit 5 people but we were wrong it was 7 people.

I know I have learned this by making an estimation and checking how many books lay flat on the the ground, also putting a picture. My digital object how many books fit in the area on the mat.
This picture shows how many book lay on the mat?

Market Men
Today Room Five had some amazing visitors. Ethan and Simon from Silo Markets came in to tell us all about their experience in the market industry.
The information they gave us is going to help us create the best market stall at Mission Day. They were so cool and answered all our questions, even though some of them were really tricky.
They told us a little bit about their market. It sounds awesome. It is a market in summer where you can watch a movie... Outside! How cool! The Silo Markets start in December so make sure you go and check it out!
Healthy vegetables, fruits and foods by Avishek
We are learning about healthy foods for our body because God created us in his image and we have to take care of our bodies. I know I have learnt this when I have created a food pyramid with healthy vegetables, fruits and foods that we should sometimes have. This is a picture of my food pyramid.

Non-standard units of measure by Gabby
WALT - use non-standard measures to find the area of the shape.
Today, Room 5 were learning about non-standard units of measure. I know I have learnt about non standard units of measure because our shape was the same shape like the other shapes but our body wasn't the same sizes. This is called an area.
In this photo we made a shape and an estimation of how many students could fit sitting down inside the shape. We were trying to find out the area of our shape using ourselves. This is a non-standard unit of measure. A non-standard unit is the same objects but not the same sizes.

In this photo we put ourselves inside the shape. Our estimation was three, but our estimation was wrong. The right estimation was eight. Only eight students students could fit inside the shape.
